  2. Three Act Structure

    1. Act 1 (Beginning): Introduce characters and setting. Introduce the concept of the protagonist, the main character of the film. Exposition. Incentive Movement.
    2. Act 2 (Middle): Introduction of a goal that leads to the main problem or conflict of the story. Conflict, rising action, crisis.
    3. Act 3 (End): Conclusion. The protagonist's final confrontation. The audience finds out whether the protagonist accomplishes his or her goal. Falling action. Resolution.

What is Visual Literacy?

Visual literacy is the ability to interpret, use, appreciate, and create images and video using both conventional and 21st century media in ways that advance thinking, decision making, communication, and learning.

Students Who Are Visually Literate:
Have Working Knowledge of Visuals Produced or Displayed through Electronic Media
  1. Understand basic elements of visual design, technique, and media.
  2. Are aware of emotional, psychological, physiological, and cognitive influences in perceptions of visuals.
  3. Comprehend representational, explanatory, abstract, and symbolic images.

Apply Knowledge of Visuals in Electronic Media
  1. Are informed viewers, critics, and consumers of visual information.
  2. Are knowledgeable designers, composers, and producers of visual information.
  3. Are effective visual communicators.
  4. Are expressive, innovative visual thinkers and successful problem solvers.
